I do not fair well in heat; raise the temperature by one or two degrees and I start to suffer. So during summer, if I can be convinced to put make-up on at all, it's as light as I can possibly apply it. Most days I will stick with the Shu Uemura BB Perfector with a little NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, mattified with MAC Blot Powder, maybe a sweep of eye liner and mascara.. and that's it.

For occasions that call for a little more effort, I've been wearing a smokey eye using the lightest shade from the Oriflame Eyebrow Kit. It is way too light for my brows anyway and its tawny colour works beautifully as an eye shadow. I add a glow to my cheekbones with Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight or a little colour with Tarte Dollface. A good lip balm in summer is a must but when I reach for other lip products its almost always Christian Dior Lip Glow (of course) or Korres Mango Lip Butter, both of which provide natural, summery flushes of colour.

Like you I've been keeping it light the last few weeks with hardly wearing anything at all, except mascara. I HAVE to get an Amazonian Clay Blush soon, they seem wonderful! :o) Xx

  5. Normally during the summer I'm feeling very lazy so I can only put some effort in wearing a little of concealer to cover blemishes and dark concealer

  6. I agree with you in that I never want to cake on too much make-up on hot summer days! Like you I'm currently loving a mango scented lip butter, by The Body Shop :)

  8. Ugh, makeup in the summer is the worst. Plus where I live, I always end up sweating it off anyway. Add in going to the gym every day and going to the beach...yep, it's definitely easier to keep it minimal. I agree: I save my more complicated looks for fall and winter. Just brow gel, concealer, and bronzer in the summer.

  10. I feel you on the makeup in the summer conundrum! I am currently on a mission to get my skin as healthy as it possibly can be so I can feel comfortable going bare faced for the warmer months! Although, I might have to make an exception for mascara...

I absolutely love Tarte's doll face! I actually wore it today :) And I tend to not like it when it's very hot either but I live in Florida so there really is no avoiding it unfortunately.

  12. It's super pretty although I have to use it with a light hand as it's SUPER bright and a little unflattering if too much is applied.
