Hidcote Garden was created by Lawrence Johnston, he built the gardens by exchanging plants with other gardeners from all over the world; carefully selecting only the finest and most unusual varieties of flowers, trees, and plants from the Alps, South Africa, and China.
Box hedges, hornbeam and yew, and stone walls create themed "outdoor rooms" lined with hedges, rare trees, shrubs, and herbaceous borders, through which visitors can explore. Some of these 'rooms' are furnished with topiaries, ponds, fountains, and small bridges, lined with wild flowers and flower beds.
The gardens at Hidcote Manor are luxuriously peaceful, full of floral smells, colourful palettes, stunning flowers and aged trees. It's a beautiful place to visit especially in summer when every flower is out in bloom and the rolling countryside can be seen in all its glory.
