A while back I downsized my beauty stash and threw away a lot of my make-up. As I work through using up the products left over, the necessity of replacing key pieces with new products to try is an exciting prospect. I’m trying to only add what I need when I need them to prevent clutter and excess, here are the items I’ve recently chosen to restock my beauty drawers.
Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation*
One of those products that gets me ready to go in seconds: Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation* smooths out imperfections, blurs the complexion, and helps you achieve an natural make-up look with minimal effort. I wear this on studio days when I want to look put together but don't want to spend a lot of time on my appearance. I find it applies better on freshly washed, slightly damp skin and blends out perfectly, concealing any "flaws" you want to disguise.
Natio Liquid Eye Liner
I've always preferred super fine tapered tip eyeliners and since the Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Eyeliner was discontinued I've been on the hunt for a suitable replacement. The Natio Liquid Eye Liner has a delicate flexible tip allowing for controlled and precise application with a high definition finish due to its inky black pigment. It's a long wearing product that lasts all day; easy to use and easy to remove, a definite recommendation from me.
Natio Extreme Volume Smudge Proof Mascara
With the Natio Extreme Volume Smudge Proof Mascara you can create voluminous, natural looking lashes. I like thick extra fluffy lashes and the Natio Extreme Volume Smudge Proof Mascara doesn't quite do it for me, it's a little too much work to get the result I prefer. It doesn't clump, smudge, or transfer at all plus it's super long wearing. If you have the patience to apply two or three coats this mascara does live up to its name, and the result is very natural looking voluminous lashes.
Shiseido Perfecting Stick Concealer
Concealing? Check! Brightening? Check! Long lasting? Check! I took a risk on this concealer and it paid off. I needed something heavy duty that would blend and conceal effortlessly, and the Shiseido Perfecting Stick Concealer ticks all those boxes. It can settle into creases so needs a little work with a damp blending brush or sponge but overall I'm impressed with this product. It's a heavy duty concealer with a lightweight appearance, and the formula ensures it stays put all day.
Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation*
For days when I need something a little more coverage and a primed finish I reach for the Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation. The lightest shade (N1) is ideal for porcelain skin tones and the formula is created to be long wearing and oil free to prevent shine. Buildable, lightweight, and natural, this foundation creates a flawless, fresh appearance and can be worn sheer or as full coverage. It requires a beauty blender for even application and to achieve an airbrushed finish, which I love.
I'm reluctant to add more brushes to my collection, how many do you really need when applying make-up? I upgraded to a Zoeva set a few months back but realised a few key brushes were missing. LAB2 completed my kit with a precise lip brush, slanted eye liner, kabuki brush, and tapered blush brush - 100% vegan-friendly and made from synthetic fibres (which, in my opinion, is better than natural hair) these brushes are very much on par with the quality of my Zoeva set. The domed blush brush is a favourite and allows the most beautiful application and blending of blusher, while the kabuki brush helps set make-up with a light buffing of setting powder.
