Gift giving is wonderful when it's heartfelt and meaningful; I have pretty strong feelings on gifting, I don't believe we should ever hand out gifts because we feel obliged to do so. Yet even though we might love to give gifts to our loved ones, it's not always easy to decide what they would appreciate the most. Here are a few failsafe ideas for unisex gifts you could give to anyone and everyone.

Socks. The ultimate classic - socks! They are, undoubtedly, one of the most useful and well received gifts. If you do decide to gift a pair, may I suggest Chatty Feet? They are ridiculously fun and far more original than a pair of
boring black socks. URU Design offer more conservative patterned socks for less fun giftees.
eReader. I can't think of anything more an avid bookreader would be more excited to receive than an eReader. The Kobo H2O has a no-glare 6.8” Carta E Ink touchscreen that mimics ink on paper, and can hold up to 3,000 eBooks - plus it's waterproof. Preload thousands of free eBooks onto it and this gift is undeniably perfect.
Stationery. There's nothing quite like a fresh notebook and writing supplies. Papersmiths stocks a range of well designed paper goods to shop from including greeting cards and even magazines.
Backpack. A useful gift is the best kind of gift and Fjällräven's Kånkens come in a variety of sizes and colours so you can find the perfect fit and style for your giftee. Buy an endlessly useful gift that will last for years.
Gift Set. Consumable and luxurious a gift set is the failsafe choice for anyone. The White Company Lime & Bay Set contains a candle, triple milled soap, bath and shower gel, and body lotion scented with bergamot, orange, lime and lemon with hints of ginger and crushed bay leaves.
Water Bottle. It's the kind of thing you wouldn't necessarily want to buy for yourself but would be pleased to receive as a gift. The memobottle is convenient and environmentally responsible; perfect for frequent travellers, commuters, and day trippers.
Plants. Affordable, beautiful, and thoughtful - plants make exceptional gifts. Make sure you pick something low-maintenance and easy to keep so you don't burden your giftee with unwanted commitment. Not sure what plants to go for? Here is a guide to houseplants to give you some ideas.
Watch. The classic gift: a well-designed timepiece. Shore Projects has a whole range of unisex watches with interchanegable straps and customiseable features. The Barra watch is a favourite with a "venerable explorer" style and vintage appearance or if you're looking for something more classic, Daniel Wellington gets timelessness just right.
Hamper. If you're ever unsure what to buy as a gift, consumables always go down well. There are plenty of premade hampers available but they are incredibly easy to create yourself; pack a box with treats with everything from jams and preserves, crackers, cheeses, honey, wine, and chocolates.
